Changes This Year
Due to the extended “stay at home” directive from our governor due to the COVID-19 virus, we have decided to delay our opening this season. We normally open on April 1, but will be announcing our opening date at a future time. We will begin offering some of our plants at Local Roots in Wooster and Ashland Roots as we move forward. Things like potted herbs and vegetable starts will be available to include with your curbside pickup orders from both locations. A list of offerings will be shared. Once we do open, we plan to offer “curbside pickup” for those who would like to call ahead to get their plants. A list of available plants will be shared here and on our Facebook page. We will also send information out via our email list, so if you are not yet signed up—now would be the perfect time to get on that list!
At this point, we have offered alternate dates to two of our scheduled early season weddings. Since our facility is large and mostly open to the outdoors, we anticipate being able to host most of the weddings this season. As things change, we will let you know. Rest assured that we will do everything within our power to make sure your guests will be able to enjoy a safe experience at Mohican Gardens. For engaged couples wanting to tour our venue, we’ve come up with a method of offering a safe visit that includes social distancing via cell phones. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact us.
With multiple venues to choose from, Mohican Gardens is the perfect backdrop for any wedding—whether your vision is country-chic or formal elegance. And because we only allow one wedding at our property each day, you have the option of utilizing our spaces however you want. Outdoor ceremony overlooking our 2-1/2 acre spring-fed lake? Check! Cocktails in the barn while the wedding party has their pictures taken? Check! Lots of room for dinner and dancing in the Conservatory? Check!
Yep. It’s all included as part of our wedding/reception package. We also have a prep kitchen, bride’s dressing room, golf cart assistance, and parking attendants ready to help you out on the day of your big event. AND, we are one of the few outdoor venues in Ohio that offers several indoor back-up plans for your wedding or event when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
We also host luncheons and business meetings. Our knowledgeable staff loves to talk about our property and the many plants we produce here. Garden clubs are welcome to schedule a meeting in the evenings, and we will plan a workshop to create hanging baskets or patio pots while you are here. Please give us a few days’ notice so we can make sure the space is available for you.

Mohican Gardens features a seasonal greenhouse producing spring flower and vegetable garden plants as well as lots of herbs. We produce hanging baskets, vegetables, annuals, herbs, and fall ornamentals for the home garden. If you have questions about specific plants, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org since we often have trouble catching phone calls this time of year. You can also leave us a message at (419) 368-4024 and we will get back with you as soon as we can. Our service is what sets us apart from other greenhouses. Bring us your vision (and your pots) and we will help put together an outdoor space you can be proud to call your own all season long! We enjoy introducing you to special touches that can make your patio the talk of the neighborhood. And because you can do all of the potting right here at Mohican Gardens, the mess stays here.
